From the villa we walk and plunge into the beautiful unspoilt countryside where the villa is located. We will guide you along old cow tracks and over dry stone walled terraces looking for wild edible vegetables of the season, such as wild asparagus, borage,capers,oregano, chicory, swiss chard, mustard tops, fennel,borage, and we show you how to use them in simple flavorful dishes that are the heart of our Sicilian country style cooking. As we look for wild edible plants you will treat your senses in a mesmerizing wildflower walk at the peak of the wildflower season ( during spring from mid Feb. to mid May) . Sicily’s wildflowers are a stunning, a variety of colors with red poppies, purple ranunculus, yellow/orange calendula, white daises , blue borage, and exquisite orchids in shades from pale white/pink to deep purple/brown. The length of the walk can be geared to suit you.
